I am an educational and traditional technologist, who values clients that take a lateral approach to their solutions, I have been an IT Consultant for over 25 years with niche interests in real estate, health, fitness, manufacturing, finance and education. My clients have been mostly referral-based which is certainly a way to keep the marketing budget tight. I've found that many people find it refreshing that I'm an Aussie with a big heart and lateral thought process to match. I tend to meet people in their homes, offices or coffee shops and always meet them when convenient; that means after hours and weekends as well. My last assignment was working for the National Intelligence Unit in Banking and Insurance Fraud and Investigations at Suncorp; this turned in to a permanent role. Digital Analytics and Predictive Modelling using algorithms and specialised reporting using SAS, SSIS, BI Suite of Microsoft products and services. I ran my own company for 12 years prior to this and worked on a variety of interesting projects, apps and installable software as well as building a customised Content Management System, that incorporated many aspects of SEO, educational and knowledge management application services. Prior to this, my career was with the Teaching and Educational Development Unit, TEDI, at the University of Queensland. I introduced eLearning systems and practices as well as influenced policy development and empowered lecturers to utilise this technology with their students. I developed and taught a number of courses as well as being sent over to Canada to present a conference paper that I wrote; one of many and some collaborative paper writing.
