Pieter Romer is owner of Romer Media. He comes from the Nisga'a wolf clan or Laxi'buu in northern BC and descends from Frisian seafarers in Northern Holland. He started his career as as Story Producer in 2000 for the award winning indigenous current affairs series CTV First Story, working his way up to Senior Producer. Over 14 years he produced, directed and wrote half hour stories in art, culture and politics winning numerous prestigious TV awards. In 2011 Pieter took a position as the Executive Producer of APTN News & Current affairs for Western Canada, where he was in charge of four bureaus. Today Pieter runs his independent production company out of Sidney BC, servicing Victoria, Vancouver and internationally. One of his best experiences working overseas was when he had the opportunity to document the indigenous people of Japan, the Ainu and the band, Ainu Rebels. When Pieter is not making videos for his clients, he is a freelance producer, director & story editor for television programming. Pieter has come a long way since the days of living on a commercial salmon fishing boat, trolling on the west coast of Cape Scott, British Columbia.
